Providing Peace Of Mind For Over 20 Years

    Estate Planning

Estate planning is one of the most important steps any person can take to make sure that their final property and health care wishes are honored, and that loved ones are provided for in their absence. Though often overlooked or put off in favor of more immediate concerns, a comprehensive estate plan can resolve a number of legal questions that arise whenever anyone dies. Here at Thomson Law, PC we closely work with families to identify estate planning options which fit their specific family circumstances.

    Probate & Assets Administration

Probate is the court-supervised process of authenticating a last will and testament if the deceased made one. It includes locating and determining the value of the decedent’s assets, paying his final bills and taxes, then distributing the remainder of the estate to his rightful heirs or beneficiaries. Our attorney meets with the family members to determine if a probate is necessary. If it is determined that you should go ahead with a probate we will prepare all Affidavits Terminating Joint Tenancy and Affidavits of Confirmation and Survivorship for the Transfer on Death Deeds.

Thomson Law, PC can help decide whether a C-corporation, S-corporation, or an LLC is the right business entity for you. While you can do this research on your own, a professional knowledgeable attorney in corporate formation can give you the ins and outs of the benefits and drawbacks to each type of corporate structure, and be able to help you determine which entity will fit your needs. Each of these entities will have different fees and administrative expenses, restrictions, and tax implications. Where the stakes are high or consequences immediate (i.e., loss of corporate status), the most prudent course is to consult our attorney early on to determine which legal business structure is best.
